Miramonte wins going away against St. Bernard's

Recap: Miramonte Matadors vs. St. Bernard's Crusaders

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Miramonte Matadors had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Crusaders 42-20. Considering Miramonte has won five games by more than 21 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Miramonte was led to victory by Andrew Bjornson and Carson Blair. Bjornson picked up 187 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Blair threw for 271 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt. Bjornson's longest reception was for an incredible 92 yards. Charlie Hwang was another key contributor, rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown.

St. Bernard's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Wyatt Simoni, who rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown. Simoni hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Aaiden Burris, who picked up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The win was the third in a row for Miramonte, bringing their record for this year to 9-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29 points. As for St. Bernard's, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Miramonte will head out on the road to face off against Pleasant Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. St. Bernard's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
