Football Recap: Forney Piles Up the Points Against Boswell

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Forney). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Boswell Pioneers 75-20. Given the Jackrabbits' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Pioneers are ranked 308th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Forney to victory were Nelson Peterson Jr. and Javian Osborne. Peterson Jr. threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, while Osborne rushed for 136 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries. Caleb Chrest was another key player, rushing for 50 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Forney was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 349 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Forney's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Boswell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Forney and Boswell will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Jackrabbits will face off against rival North Forney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Boswell is set to challenge their familiar foe Mansfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
