Basketball Recap: Community of Peace Academy Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Community of Peace Academy challenged Mounds Park Academy on Tuesday. The Community of Peace Academy Tigers received a blow as they fell 74-57 to the Mounds Park Academy Panthers. The Tigers lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 98-59 score last time.

Community of Peace Academy's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points over those games. As for Mounds Park Academy, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-16.

Coincidentally, Community of Peace Academy and Mounds Park Academy will both be playing Humboldt the next time they take the court. Mounds Park Academy will head out to face Humboldt at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Community of Peace Academy will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th.
