El Camino (Oceanside, Calif.).
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter, the Lancers led 13-7 at the half.
Carlsbad expanded its lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored two times in the third, including once on a
Christian Chapman touchdown pass to
Hayden Mortimer.
El Camino's lone touchdown came on a defensive touchdown in the second quarter.
The Lancers went into the matchup giving up only 10.9 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for El Camino, who notched a 28-14 victory over Fallbrook in its previous outing. The win was a nice bounce back for Carlsbad, which lost to La Costa Canyon last week, 24-10. The victory snapped Carlsbad's two-game losing streak.
