Football Recap: First Academy Starts Season with Win Against Lakeside Christian

First Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Lakeside Christian Lions with a sharp 41-18 victory on Friday.

First Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Henry Purvis, who threw for 193 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 57 yards. The dominant performance also gave Purvis a new career-high in passer rating (88.3). Luke Rutzebeck was in the mix as well, providing First Academy with two scores.

Coming up, First Academy will welcome Saint Francis Catholic Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeside Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cornerstone Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
