Volleyball Recap: Leonard Starts off Right with Win over Santaluces

Leonard had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Santaluces Chiefs as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Chiefs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Leonard took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-5, 25-14.

Anaya Daniel paced Leonard's offense, picking up nine kills. Daniel got some help from Victoria Fermin and her 23 assists. Melissa Bailly controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Santaluces' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leonard will venture away from home to face off against Royal Palm Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santaluces, they will head out to take on Atlantic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
