Softball Recap: Goose Creek Takes a Loss

Goose Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the James Island Trojans, falling 17-9. If the Gators were looking for revenge after losing 5-4 to them when the teams met back in April of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jaionna Wheatley was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Jara, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Goose Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goose Creek will challenge Myrtle Beach at 6:30 p.m. on March 7th. James Island will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on March 12th.
