Baseball Recap: Hightstown Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Hightstown had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Nottingham on Saturday. The Rams never let the Northstars get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

Anthony Benitez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Benitez was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Hightstown got a big performance out of Daniel Krier, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Peyton Atlak was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Hightstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hightstown's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Nottingham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
