After a string of four wins, Union's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the North Sanpete Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Union took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-15, 25-16.

Rowen Weaver paced Union's offense, picking up 14 kills. Weaver got some help from Sariah White and her 12 assists.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for North Sanpete, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Union is set to face off against their familiar foe Emery at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, North Sanpete will square off against rival Carbon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
