Softball Game Preview: Ursuline Academy Lions vs. St. Scholastica Doves

The Ursuline Academy Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the St. Scholastica Doves at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Ursuline Academy came up short against Pearl River on Tuesday, falling 16-1. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, St. Scholastica lost 11-1 to Sumner on Tuesday. The loss was the Doves' first of the season.

St. Scholastica saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Gassen, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Ursuline Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. Scholastica, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Ursuline Academy suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to St. Scholastica in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Ursuline Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
