Basketball Recap: Beatty Hornets vs. Tonopah Muckers
Beatty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 57-23 loss at the hands of the Tonopah Muckers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, with their most recent loss being a 56-25 defeat back in January.
Adelaido Salgado was nothing short of spectacular for Tonopah: he made all 5 shots he took for 13 points and seven steals. Salgado is becoming a predictor of Tonopah's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 10-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Daniel Villa was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven boards and three steals.
Beatty's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Tonopah, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-8.
Beatty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tonopah, they will take on Indian Springs at 8:00 p.m. on February 14th.
