Baseball Recap: Cherry Takes a Loss

Cherry has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 4.08 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against the South Ridge Panthers, falling 11-1. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Mason Heitzman was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Cherry's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for South Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherry will challenge Littlefork-Big Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Ridge, they will square off against North Woods at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
