Volleyball Recap: Whiteland Takes a Loss

Whiteland had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 5-11 to make it five. They fell just short of the Southport Cardinals by a score of 3-2. Warriors fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Cardinals since Wednesday.

As for Southport, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 16th.

Southport's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lily Boone, who had 18 digs and nine assists. That's the most assists Boone has posted since back in August. Avery Kendrick was another key player, getting 17 digs and one assist.

Coming up, Whiteland is taking a road trip to square off against Greenfield-Central at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Southport, they will host Indianapolis Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
