Los Fresnos entered their tilt with Alexander on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Los Fresnos Falcons who were credited with the win. The Los Fresnos Falcons got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Alexander Bulldogs' three. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 18th).

Gio Barrientos was the driving force of Los Fresnos' attack as he scored both of Los Fresnos' goals, bringing his season total up to seven goals.

Los Fresnos has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those six games. As for Alexander, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.

Los Fresnos wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Cornerstone Christian on the 17th. As for Alexander, they will head out on the road to square off against United South at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
