Basketball Recap: Veritas Prep Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Veritas Prep challenged Horizon Honors on Tuesday. The Veritas Prep Falcons lost 50-26 to the Horizon Honors Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Eagles are ranked 106th).

Leading Horizon Honors to victory were Audriana Anglada and Alicia Londono. Anglada posted 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Londono earned nine points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Brooklynn Dorough was another key player, putting up eight points.

Veritas Prep dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Horizon Honors, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Veritas Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-27 defeat against Lincoln Prep on the 22nd. Horizon Honors has also already played their next contest, a 53-36 loss against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 22nd.
