Recap: Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels vs. John Paul II Golden Warrriors
The Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 53-6 defeat at the hands of John Paul II. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Thomas Heyward Academy has scored all season.
Brady Mahoney was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds for John Paul II. Mahoney hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Termini, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Thomas Heyward Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for John Paul II, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomas Heyward Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Beaufort Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Beaufort Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for John Paul II, they will play host again and welcome Northwood Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwood Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
