Soccer Game Preview: Aurora East vs. Elgin

The Aurora East Tomcats will head out on the road to square off against the Elgin Maroons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Aurora East's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

On Thursday, Aurora East came up short against Larkin and fell 3-1. That's two games in a row now that Aurora East have lost by exactly two goals.

Their goal came courtesy of Kenneth Montano, which was the first he's scored this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Elgin and Streamwood had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Maroons walked away with a 3-1 win over the Sabres on Tuesday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Elgin's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Streamwood are ranked 176th).

Elgin's record now sits at 6-4-1. As for Aurora East, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-5.
