Baseball Recap: Tyler Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Tyler let Magnolia stack six runs on them in the second inning on Monday but luckily Tyler prevailed anyway. The Knights walked away with a 12-8 win over the Blue Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Brayden Neff made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Neff was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Tyler is 9-1 when Neff posts two or more runs, but 5-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Nate Deaton was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reese Davis, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Tyler pushed their record up to 14-12 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Magnolia, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tyler will square off against Beallsville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Magnolia, they will take on Ritchie County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Eagles will need to watch out since the Rebels have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
