Baseball Recap: River Ridge/Scales Mound Comes Up Short

River Ridge/Scales Mound was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 6-0 to the Galena Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent defeat being a 6-5 loss on Tuesday.

River Ridge/Scales Mound saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Duerr, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

River Ridge/Scales Mound's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Galena, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Ridge/Scales Mound will square off against Durand/Pecatonica at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rivermen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.06 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Galena, they will face off against Warren/Stockton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
