Basketball Recap: Freire Charter Takes a Loss

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Freire Charter was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 58-27 loss at the hands of Hill Freedman World Academy. While losing is never fun, the Dragon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while Hill Freedman World Academy are ranked 211th).

Leading Hill Freedman World Academy to victory were Jaiden Copeland and Dahkenah Wilkins. Copeland posted 18 points and three steals, while Wilkins put up 13 points and four steals. The contest was Copeland's third in a row with at least ten points. Amaad Lyles was another key player, putting up three points along with six boards and five assists.

Freire Charter's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Hill Freedman World Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Freire Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 32-24 defeat against MAST Charter II on the 12th. As for Hill Freedman World Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 52-36 victory against Parkway Center City on the 12th.
