Basketball Recap: Hilliard Bradley Takes a Loss

Hilliard Bradley was the 47-39 winner over Worthington Kilbourne when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Hilliard Bradley Jaguars took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Worthington Kilbourne Wolves on Tuesday. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Hilliard Bradley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tate Dudley dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dudley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Lopez, who posted six points.

Worthington Kilbourne was led to victory by Audrey Bennett and Bella White. Bennett dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 assists, while White went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points and five steals. With that strong performance, White is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliviah Wilkerson, who had nine points and seven rebounds.

Hilliard Bradley's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Worthington Kilbourne, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Hilliard Bradley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-33 victory against Hilliard Davidson on the 31st. Worthington Kilbourne has also already played their next contest, a 52-35 win against Hayes on the 31st.
