Softball Game Preview: Flowing Wells Caballeros vs. Pueblo Warriors

For the second straight game, Flowing Wells will face off against Pueblo. The Caballeros will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Flowing Wells has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Flowing Wells came up short against Pueblo on Tuesday, falling 18-3. The Caballeros have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

For Pueblo's part, Sofia Larribas made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Larribas a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Pueblo got a massive performance out of Makayla Castanon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Castanon a new career-high in triples (two). Renata Nu?ez was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Pueblo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flowing Wells only posted a batting average of .241.

The victory snapped Pueblo's losing streak at ten games and leaves them with a 5-15 record. As for Flowing Wells, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-15.
