Baseball Game Preview: South Fort Myers Wolfpack vs. Fort Myers Green Wave

The South Fort Myers Wolfpack will head out on the road to face off against the Fort Myers Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

South Fort Myers is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 victory over Riverdale on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolfpack as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fort Myers, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Estero 6-5.

Brady Campbell looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Fort Myers saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Ware, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Fort Myers pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Fort Myers, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

South Fort Myers was able to grind out a solid victory over Fort Myers in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 11-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Fort Myers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
