Basketball Recap: Lighthouse Christian Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Franklin Road Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lighthouse Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Allen Niles Jr. The Lions secured a 60-56 W over the Minutemen on Friday with plenty of help from Niles Jr, who shot 67% from the field en route to 25 points and three steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16.4 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Haymer, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards. Haymer is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Several Minutemen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Alcorn, who went 8-for-18 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Wes Fuqua, who shot 45% from the field to rack up 16 points.

The win made it two in a row for Lighthouse Christian and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Franklin Road Christian, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

Lighthouse Christian will take on Dickson Academy in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin Road Christian has already played their next matchup (against Pleasant View Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
