Baseball Game Preview: Conway Tigers vs. St. James Sharks

For the second straight game, Conway will face off against St. James. The Tigers will head out to challenge the Sharks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Conway is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since April 8, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of St. James by a score of 6-4. The Tigers have struggled against the Sharks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

For St. James' part, Frank Pepe looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pepe has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josh Harnish, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for St. James: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Rome Derenzo was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

St. James' win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Conway, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
