Basketball Recap: Ava Garcia and Bella Gounaris Secure Win for Saint Viator

Saint Viator's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 43-30 win over the Buffalo Grove Bison. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bison, too.

Leading Saint Viator to victory were Bella Gounaris and Ava Garcia. Gounaris went 6 for 12 on her way to 14 points, while Garcia dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Garcia has scored at least a third of Saint Viator's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalin McCrea, who posted ten points.

Saint Viator's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-7. As for Buffalo Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Saint Viator will take on Payton College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Saint Viator is facing Payton College Prep at the right time seeing as Payton College Prep is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Buffalo Grove, they will square off against Prospect at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
