Statesville and Huss squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Statesville had to settle for second. They took a 75-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huss Huskies. The match was a 33-33 toss-up at halftime, but the Greyhounds couldn't quite close it out.

Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Tillman, who on his way to 17 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Manuel (MJ) Gladden, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Huss was led to victory by Zaiyir 'Zii' Phillips and Jaleel Smith. Phillips to rack up 26 points along with six boards and five assists, while Smith dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in boards. Antonio Worthy was another key player, en route to 14 points.

Statesville's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Huss, their record is now 17-8.

Statesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Huss, they will face off against North Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Lincoln will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something Huss surely won't give up without a fight.
