Softball Recap: Peoria Notre Dame Wins Going Away Against Morton

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Peoria Notre Dame and Morton, and Peoria Notre Dame kept the tradition alive. The Irish were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Potters on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Irish considering their one-run performance the game before.

Peoria Notre Dame let Gracie Anderson and Ella Tady run wild. Anderson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs, while Tady went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three doubles gave Anderson a new career-high. Addie Rezac was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Peoria Notre Dame was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Peoria Notre Dame back to even at 10-10. As for Morton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Coming up, Peoria Notre Dame will venture away from home to take on Urbana at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morton, they will welcome Metamora at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
