Baseball Game Preview: St. Frederick Warriors vs. Caldwell Parish Spartans

The St. Frederick Warriors will square off against the Caldwell Parish Spartans at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, St. Frederick sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 victory over Oak Grove. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

ANTHONY JACKSON looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, WILLIAM PATRICK was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was MATTHEW MALLOY, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Caldwell Parish got the win against Marksville on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

St. Frederick's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Caldwell Parish, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

St. Frederick might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Caldwell Parish when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can St. Frederick avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
