Baseball Recap: North Providence Starts off Right with Win over Johnston

North Providence took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They never let the Johnston Panthers get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Alex Dieffenbach looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, North Providence's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Allard, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Looking ahead, North Providence will be playing in front of their home fans against East Greenwich at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Johnston, they will venture away from home to face off against Narragansett at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Johnston's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
