Baseball Recap: Tri County Area Gets the Win

Tri County Area took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Grant, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Tigers on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Tigers on Monday, they had to take a 14-7 loss.

Cam Lopez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Vaughn Veltman and David Torrey did most of the damage at the plate: Veltman scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Torrey went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was Veltman's first of the season.
