Basketball Recap: Lake Brantley Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lake Brantley can now relate to. They fell 57-50 to the Ocoee Knights on Wednesday. The Patriots were probably out for revenge after losing 63-49 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Lake Brantley lost, don't look at Matthew Doherty. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points and seven boards. Those 19 points gave Doherty a new career-high. Elijah Fermaint was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Lake Brantley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season. As for Ocoee, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-13.

Lake Brantley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ocoee, they will welcome Apopka at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
