Soccer Game Preview: Gretna East vs. Pius X

The Gretna East Griffins will face off against the Pius X Thunderbolts at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gretna East's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Pius X's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Gretna East is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to nine goals on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Mount Michael Benedictine on Friday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Knights who were credited with the victory. Mount Michael Benedictine got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Gretna East's two.

Pius X took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They never let Norris get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Pius X haven't had any issues with Norris recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Maddox Miller and Basil Fulton scored both of Pius X's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Pius X's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Gretna East, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
