Softball Recap: Grafton Comes Up Short

Grafton blew Smithfield out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Smithfield got their revenge. The Clippers fell just short of the Packers by a score of 3-1. The Clippers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Packers earlier this season, when they won 14-4.

Grafton has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Smithfield, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Grafton will square off against rival New Kent at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Smithfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Jamestown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
