Soccer Recap: Seventy-First Comes Up Short

Seventy-First was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Jack Britt Buccaneers, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Seventy-First can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while Jack Britt are ranked 112th).

Seventy-First's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Jack Britt, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Seventy-First will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Purnell Swett at 6:00 p.m. Seventy-First is facing Purnell Swett at the right time seeing as Purnell Swett is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Jack Britt, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-0 win against Douglas Byrd on the 24th.
