Soccer Game Preview: Kecoughtan vs. Gloucester

The Kecoughtan Warriors will face off against the Gloucester Dukes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Kecoughtan's win against Denbigh wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors' defense stepped up to hand the Patriots a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. Kecoughtan haven't had any issues with Denbigh recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Gloucester had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Phantoms. The result was nothing new for Gloucester, who have now won eight games by three goals or more so far this season.

Gloucester pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three contests. As for Kecoughtan, their win bumped their record up to 7-5-1.

Kecoughtan came up short against Gloucester in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
