Softball Recap: Richland Finds Home Field Redemption Against Somerset

There's no place like home for Richland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Somerset Eagles a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The result came thanks to Carissa Weld's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Richland's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Jordan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The victory got Richland back to even at 8-8. As for Somerset, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-12.
