Basketball Game Preview: Amery Warriors vs. Ellsworth Panthers

Amery is 2-8 against Ellsworth since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Amery Warriors will square off against the Ellsworth Panthers. Amery knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Ellsworth likes a good challenge.

If Amery beats Ellsworth with 79 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Amery beat Spooner on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 79-72. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Rails recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Ellsworth has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 69-48 to Prescott on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since February 19, 2024.

Ellsworth's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Amery, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6.

Amery came up short against Ellsworth in their previous matchup back in February, falling 81-72. Can Amery avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
