After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 14-2 margin over the Salmen Spartans. Thomas Jefferson's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Anthony Rivera made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Gunnar Dupre was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Guidroz, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Thomas Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory snapped Thomas Jefferson's losing streak at seven games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-6 record. As for Salmen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-2.

Thomas Jefferson will have a chance to go back-to-back against Salmen: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
