Softball Recap: Valley Central Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Valley Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Saugerties Sawyers on Monday. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Sawyers, too.

Adrianna Ferraro was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Eleanor O'Neill, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Valley Central's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Saugerties, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Valley Central is taking a road trip to square off against Monticello at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.93 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Saugerties, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Pine Plains at 7:00 p.m.
