Basketball Game Preview: Madison Plains Golden Eagles vs. Mechanicsburg Indians

Having just played yesterday, the Madison Plains Golden Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Mechanicsburg Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Madison Plains didn't have quite enough to beat KIPP Columbus and fell 50-47.

Meanwhile, Mechanicsburg hadn't done well against West Liberty-Salem recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Mechanicsburg walked away with a 42-35 win over West Liberty-Salem. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Madison Plains has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Mechanicsburg, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-9.

Madison Plains was able to grind out a solid victory over Mechanicsburg when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 41-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madison Plains since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
