Softball Recap: Bingham Beats Weber for Their Third Straight Victory

Bingham extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 13-7-2 in the process. They put the hurt on the Weber Warriors with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Miners might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

Kamrie Cowley looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rian Howland, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Shyann Banasky also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Bingham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weber only managed five hits.

As for Weber, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured 11 defeats in a row.

On Weber's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emery Hayes, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bingham will face off against Corner Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Weber, they will take on Farmington at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phoenix have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.75 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
