Baseball Recap: Ludlow Takes a Loss

Ludlow dropped to 12-16 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They came up short against the Bishop Brossart Mustangs, falling 18-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 14th.

As for Bishop Brossart, their victory bumped their record up to 16-19. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Bishop Brossart's part, Karter Morgan looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Morgan has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Isaac Amin, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Bishop Brossart's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 4-1 (and 12-18 when he doesn't). Derek Bezold was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI.

Coming up, Ludlow will head out to challenge Newport Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Brossart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
