New Palestine entered their tilt with Columbus North on Saturday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Bull Dogs 12-1. Considering the Dragons have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Sadey Hughbanks tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Katie Hirschy, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Payton Dye was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

New Palestine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Columbus North only posted an OBP of .111.

New Palestine's win bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Columbus North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Coming up, New Palestine will take on New Castle at 5:30 a.m. on Monday. As for Columbus North, they will face off against Jennings County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Bull Dogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
