Cypress Woods comes up short despite Chayna Thomas' dominant performance

The Cypress Woods Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Langham Creek, falling 55-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cypress Woods has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Cypress Woods lost, one person who can't be blamed is Chayna Thomas. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points.

Heather Baymon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Langham Creek, scoring 16 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Baymon has scored at least 25% of Langham Creek's points. Another player making a difference was Kayra Craig, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Cypress Woods has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Langham Creek, the win was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Cypress Woods will be home for the holidays to greet Cypress Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Falls is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Langham Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Cypress Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Springs is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
