Baseball Recap: Nazareth Area Snags 11th Victory in Last 13 Games

Nazareth Area had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Stroudsburg Mountaineers on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 two weeks ago.

Chase Kilareski and Matt Daems did most of the damage at the plate: Kilareski went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Daems went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave Daems a new career-high.

Nazareth Area has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Stroudsburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-8.

Nazareth Area has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Parkland on the 25th. Stroudsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
