Baseball Game Preview: East Burke Cavaliers vs. Patton Panthers

East Burke hasn't had much luck against Patton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The East Burke Cavaliers will look to defend their home field against the Patton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

East Burke will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Draughn, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. East Burke came out on top against Draughn by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday.

Maddox Mosteller was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Jonas Weidner was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Patton took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Freedom. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Patton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landry Duvall, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another was Wyatt Hullette, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
