Recap: Las Animas Trojans vs. Fowler Grizzlies
The Las Animas Trojans lost against the Fowler Grizzlies back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Las Animas was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to Fowler. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Las Animas has scored all season.
Las Animas' loss came despite strong showings from Brander Nichols and Tj Ortiz. Nichols scored 20 points along with four steals, while Ortiz scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Nichols continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Gage Gottbehuet continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fowler, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gottbehuet has scored at least 25% of Fowler's points. Cael True was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.
Las Animas' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Fowler, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Las Animas' road trip will continue as they head out to face Swink at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. Fowler will take on Flatirons Academy in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on December 21st at.
