Baseball Game Preview: Pacific Ridge Firebirds vs. Guajome Park Academy Frogs

The Pacific Ridge Firebirds will challenge the Guajome Park Academy Frogs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Guajome Park Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Pacific Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Pacific Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Liberty Charter with a sharp 16-6 win last Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Firebirds as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Pacific Ridge let Michael Fredericks and Cal Chivers run wild. Fredericks scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Chivers scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Chivers has become a key player for Pacific Ridge: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jed McDonald, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Pacific Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Guajome Park Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Mountain Empire, falling 22-5.

Guajome Park Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Pacific Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
