Volleyball Game Preview: Purvis Tornadoes vs. Brookhaven Panthers

The Purvis Tornadoes will face off against the Brookhaven Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Purvis is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Hancock, who was ranked 19th at the time (Purvis was ranked sixth). The Tornadoes fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Tornadoes haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Purvis took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 15-5.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Brookhaven duked it out with North Pike on Thursday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars.

The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 25-14.

Brookhaven's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Purvis, their defeat dropped their record down to 30-6.
